Obit. Middleton Times-Tribune of 3/29/46: John Wagner, Sr. 79,died at his homein Ashton Friday afternoon after a long illness.He was a member of St. Pius Men's Society and of the Holy NameSociety of St. Peter's church, Ashton. He is survived by fourdaughters, Mrs. George Ziegler, Middleton, Mrs. Adelia Acker,and Mrs. Leo Meier, Ashton, and Mrs. John Meier, Middleton,three sons, John of Sun Prairie, George and William of Ashton, ahalf brother, Matt Koellen, Middleton, 47 grandchildren andeight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in thehome at 9 a.m. Monday and in St. Peter's church at 9:30 a.m.with the Rev. N. B. Schneider officiating. Burial was in thechurch cemetery. Pallbearers were his six grandsons, Joseph,Stanley and Francis Wagner, Cyril and Eugene Meier, and ClarenceAcker.
